How do we know we are choosing the right photographer?
When choosing a photographer to capture any important milestone in your journey its really important that you look at more than just their work. It can be extremely overwhelming, so I recommend narrowing it down to your favourite 3 photographers and get in contact with each, have a chat, look at some of their galleries, and be sure to discuss what it is you want out of your session, you’ll know pretty quickly who’s on your page.
what sort of style would you say you shoot?
In the most simple form, I have a candid and relaxed style. I am into the moments that you will actually want to go over again and again, I provide individual direction at sessions, but never over pose or over complicate my sessions, I want your images to represent you, your family and this time in your life. I love to just hang out and capture your moments as we have a chat and get to know each other, i’ve had many clients say they forgot they were even getting their photos taken.
When should we book + whats the booking process?
Booking your session as soon as possible ensures that you don’t miss out on the right time for your sessions, especially if you are wanting to book maternity and newborn. Family sessions can be booked generally a month or so out and even sometimes the same fortnight. As a person who runs and does everything for my business and has a young family, I can only say yes to a certain amount of sessions per week and I don’t want you to miss out. To book, I require a $250 non refundable booking fee, a signed contract and fun little questionnaire to be filled out.
Can we meet up or chat over the phone to discuss everything before we make a commitment?
Sure can, I would love to meet up with you over a coffee or zoom/phone and chat and get to know each other before your make a commitment. I offer complimentary 15 minute phone calls to ensure that we are the right fit.
I’m not comfortable in front of the camera, or super awkward. How do you deal with that?
Preach!! Me either, truth be told. But I have a very relaxed approach to my work, I like to make it as comfortable as possible, I don’t like posed photos, I may sometimes provide some direction, but for the most part I just hang out and capture you guys as we go, you’ll be comfortable in absolutely no time!
How long after the session will we get our images?
You can expect to receive your beautiful online gallery of images up to 21 days after your session. Generally a bit sooner. In some circumstances it may take longer, but I always inform the client in each situation if this is the case.
What do we wear and what to expect in our session?
These are great questions, this all depends on the location of your session/time of year and your style, I don’t offer a client wardrobe as I want my sessions to be individual to each client/family/mother.
